Stwart is a former ExxonMobil process engineer and holds an MBA from MIT Sloan Business School. His skill set includes manufacturing, design, and process operating experience of large-scale units, including plastic pyrolysis operations from his time at ExxonMobil. He has scaled up technologies from the bench scale and also held leadership positions at a previous climate tech startup that went on to raise a $30M Series B round.

Dr. Jan-Georg Rosenboom is a Polymer Scientist from MIT's Langer Lab, plastic sustainability consultant and TEDx speaker on plastic recycling. He has a PhD from ETH Zurich where he developed polymerization processes based on Ring-Opening Polymerization, where his work on PEF is currently being commercialized by SULZER. His skill set includes polymer chemistry, synthesis and analytics, life cycle assessment, process design, and kinetic simulations. Sharon Bort is an enthusiastic social impact and sustainability leader with over a decade of experience in operations, HR, and program management. She excels at community engagement, building strong partnerships, and fostering collaborative, high-performing teams. Sharon has successfully led strategic initiatives and ecosystem growth in the climate and energy sectors, mentoring startups, and driving venture creation. Outside of work, you can find her hiking mountains, running and biking, and baking up a storm.

Thanaphorn is a polymer scientist with a strong background in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with four years of experience in polymer science research from Clark University and MCPHS University. Her work focused on developing a novel polymer-based non-viral gene delivery vehicle. Her diverse background in biochemistry and pharmaceuticals adds a unique perspective to the MacroCycle team.

Soo holds a B.A. degree from Wellesley College with a dual background in Data Science and Biology. She gained her first official industry experience building corporate AI solutions during an engineering internship at Pfizer. Most recently, she was selected for Y Combinator’s Startup School in San Francisco, joining a highly selective cohort of the nation's top builders to collaborate and learn from industry experts.

Having originally started at MacroCycle as its very first Business Development Intern, Soo now brings her interdisciplinary specialty to the technical team. She manages the company’s web infrastructure, develops core data engineering workflows, and builds custom agentic AI pipelines to optimize experimental designs and maximize team efficiency.

Ian is a plastics and polymer engineer dedicated to bridging the gap between innovative material science and sustainable manufacturing. He earned both his Master's and Bachelor's degrees in Plastics Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Lowell. During his graduate studies, he authored a thesis focused on pushing the boundaries of micro-injection molding techniques to replicate complex micro and nano topographies. In his most recent roles, he led efforts to develop internal extrusion capabilities and optimized experimental rubber composites using sustainable fillers.

Brontë is a leader in partnerships and government relations with a decade of experience in the cleantech sector. Prior to joining MacroCycle as Head of Partnerships, she served as a Program Manager at GoogleX in Mountain View, CA, working on plastics circularity as well as other climate-focused initiatives within the GoogleX portfolio. Brontë began her career at Greentown Labs in Somerville, MA, where she established strong ties within Boston's cleantech ecosystem and supported startups with government relations and corporate partnerships.

Ali Nebipasagil is a Senior Polymer Scientist with over a decade of hands-on experience in both academia and industry, specializing in advanced materials and additive manufacturing technologies. He holds a PhD in Macromolecular Science and Engineering from Virginia Tech, where he developed high-performance polymers for membrane-based separations. Prior to entering industry, he completed postdoctoral research at UNC Chapel Hill, focusing on photopolymer resins for 3D printing. In industry, Ali has led the development and commercialization of SLA materials across multiple product lines. His expertise includes polymer synthesis, formulation, process development, and material characterization.

Elisabetta Ruggeri is a materials scientist and chemical engineer passionate about creating sustainable materials for a more circular future. She earned her PhD in Biomedical Engineering and Materials Science from Tufts University and completed postdoctoral research at Harvard University's Wyss Institute, where she led the development of analytical methods to characterize bioplastics from bacteria. Her research focuses on transforming natural polymers into biodegradable composites and coatings for packaging and healthcare applications. At Tufts and during her master's research at MIT, she designed biopolymer-based packaging solutions to reduce plastic and textile waste. Elisabetta loves connecting science and sustainability, combining her engineering background with analytical and experimental expertise to design materials that translate innovation into real-world impact.

Kyle is a chemical engineer with a strong interest and skill set in first-of-a-kind process development. He brings fifteen years of industrial experience to MacroCycle, most recently at Danimer Scientific as VP of Operations of its P(3HP) polymer demonstration plant after roles of progressively increasing responsibility at Novomer, Cabot Corporation, Midori Renewables and P&G Chemicals. Kyle has expertise in process scale-up and intensification, safe handling of hazardous substances, technoeconomic analysis and risk mitigation, and a wide variety of unit operations at various scales. He graduated from the AB/BE program at Dartmouth College with a concentration in Chemical Engineering.

Mary brings her Biology and Chemistry background from Emmanuel College, where her senior thesis explored the synthesis of small-molecule drug with sequence-specific binding capabilities. Most recently, she worked as a lab tech at Bunker Hill Community College, where she channeled her passion into improving sustainability practices in teach labs.

Edoardo Terreni is a Chemical Engineer and is an expert in MacroCycle technology through his PhD thesis "Optimization of a New Recycling Technology for Polyesters" at the Politecnico Di Milano in Italy under supervision of Prof. Storti and Prof. Moscatelli. He also brings industrial experience at ENI, Italy's largest petrochemical company.
